UP ON THE ROOF

Our Favorite Fall Cocktails and Small Plates

Autumn is in full swing here in Greenville, SC, and we’ve harvested all of the season’s yummiest flavors for you to enjoy at UP on the Roof. Along with the city’s best vantage point to enjoy the Upstate fall foliage from above, our rooftop restaurant serves a variety of seasonally inspired small plates and cocktails. Read on to learn more about a few of our favorites for fall 2020.

Sophisticated Southern Bites for Autumn

Our fall 2020 menu features a collection of creative Carolina dishes that’ll warm you right ‘UP’ on a brisk autumn evening. As always, the chefs at UP on the Roof – led by Executive Chef Shane Robertson – work with local vendors to curate a collection of the highest quality UPstate ingredients. This season, we’ve integrated fresh fall fruits and vegetables such as sweet potatoes, baby kale, corn, and more into our new small plates in a variety of tasty ways.

From the Farm

Maple Roasted Root Vegetables: What flavor could possibly taste more like fall than maple? (Okay, maybe pumpkin spice.) We’ve tossed your favorite seasonal veggies, like carrots, yams, and parsnips, in that sweet sap to create the perfect cool weather vegetarian dish.

Harvest Salad: The name alone practically screams autumn! Baby kale, quinoa, roasted corn, goat cheese, dried fruit, a fried egg, and blood orange vinaigrette come together for a dish full of wonderfully earthy flavors. Add chicken or tuna to make it a hearty yet healthy fall meal.

From the Ranch

Heritage Farms Pork Belly: Trade standard bacon and potatoes for a more refined combo: rich, hearty pork belly and sweet potato hash. This delicacy becomes truly to-die-for when topped with our seasonal maple bourbon glaze. Add a fried egg for the ultimate brunch plate.

Pasta Bourguignon: Beef braised in red wine is the quintessential stick-to-your-ribs chilly weather comfort food, but we’ve put our own twist on this French classic by incorporating the rich flavors of lamb and duck.. Served over ribbons of tagliatelle pasta and root veggies, this dish is savory heaven.

From the Sea

Lobster Ravioli: Topping pillowy pasta pockets (stuffed with everyone’s favorite seafood) with smoked tomatoes gives a traditional standby tasty update. Plus, our Pernod sauce adds luxurious creaminess, while hints of anise evoke the flavors of fall.

Don’t Forget Dessert!

Sweet Potato Cheesecake: Pumpkin pie is so last year! We bet you’ll find your new favorite fall dessert in our rich and creamy sweet potato cheesecake, served with a marshmallow fluff brulée.

Cocktails for Clinking This Fall

Fall flavors aren’t just meant to be eaten; you can savor them in a glass, too! An assortment of whiskeys give our new seasonal libations that barrel aged taste—and warm feeling—you crave this time of year.

Among our Soaring Bottled Cocktails, we recommend the Barrel of Monkeys, made from Monkey Shoulder scotch, Campari, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth, blackberry puree, and plum bitters. As for our Elevated Classics, try Bo’s Point of View, a marriage of Maker’s Mark bourbon and black walnut bitters finished off with pink grapefruit juice and honey simple syrup.
